Michael Ferrazzuolo owner and lead barista says: “I hate Starbucks, being first generation Italian I grew up drinking espresso. Going to nonna’s house for Sunday dinners and she would always have a pot of stove top espresso, still to this day. Let me tell you, that espresso being made on a stove is a million times better than Starbucks espresso made from a machine worth the price of a car. That’s when the idea came to mind, I wanted to show people what it’s like to drink coffee in Italy. My brother/co-owner, Anthony and I took a trip to Italy to a coffee trade show, spent the days out there searching through the best of the best until we stumbled upon Filicori Zecchini roasters since 1919. The blend they use is so smooth and creamy like nothing around. We want to be teachers of espresso, how to drink coffee, when to drink coffee, and what good coffee taste like. Chicago is in for a treat, come by and say ciao don’t be shy!”
Taking the train every morning is tiring, stop by Polpetti and Espresso yourself!
